Joan LaPointe-Kelto, PA-C

Mesa, AZ

“My goal is to empower patients to take charge of their healthcare by provider guidance and individual care.”

About Me

I have been a family practice PA since 2014. I truly love working with all ages from newborns up through the later years of life. I am passionate about preventative care and providing patients with tools to manage their own health.

Education and Training

I received my Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Health Promotion from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, MI in 2009. I am a 2013 A.T. Still University (Mesa, Arizona) graduate, where I earned my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies degree.

Professional Certifications

I am board certified with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants since 2013.

Professional Experience

I was an Indian Health Service Scholar, who committed service to the Indigenous Peoples community. I started my career, working for a Native American community health clinic for 2 years in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, before deciding to trade the snow for sunshine and relocate back to Arizona. I have been working with the local community in Mesa as a family practice provider for the last 7.5 years.

Favorite activity outside of work

I enjoy trail running, hiking, cooking, gardening, and art projects. My perfect day is spent on the trail for an early sunrise run, going to the farmer's market, outdoor time in the garden, and spending time with my family and two dogs.

What will make you a great provider?

My ability to listen, and treat patients as an individual with compassion.
